CCSers, Trees and Hills, Vermont area cartoonists: The “Dead Man’s Hand” anthology is looking for you!
Tree Fort Press (a local group of CCS students) is putting together an anthology for SPX. The theme is the Old West! If you’re interested in submitting a comic for inclusion, here are the guidelines:
-Art must be 7.25” x 9.25” (the final book will be 8 x 10).
-Limit of eight pages PER STORY (you are welcome to include more than 1 story). There is no page minimum and we will gladly take pin-ups or splash pages.
-Pages must be 600dpi and a bitmapped PDF. If you’re unfamiliar with how to create such a file, please let us know and we’ll walk you through it.
-Any grey tones must be half-tones.
-There is no out-of-bounds in terms of nudity or graphic content. Whatever you feel the story warrants is up to you.
-No genre bending please! That means no robot cowboys, no Indians versus dinosaurs, no steam punk, no time travelers, etc. Your story doesn’t have to be about cowboys per se, but it does need to be about the old west. The old west covered a large area and encompassed people from all walks of life. It doesn’t need other genres to help liven it up.
-Deadlines:
Pitches and ideas need to be emailed to this email address (deadmanshandcomic@yahoo.com) by Aug 5th at sundown.
Your finished pages need to be either placed in the DeadMansHand folder on the Lacey external hard drive by Sept 17th, high noon. If you do not have access to the Lacey, please email your pages to us at this email.
That’s it! Saddle up and have fun! If you have any questions, send them to this address or find myself (Morgan Pielli), Chris “Radical” Warren or Matt Young.
And if you were added to this email list in error or wish for any reason to be taken off, please send me an email.
Sunsets and sixguns,
-Morgan Pielli
