Colleen/Dagger, Chris just had a really good idea: Instead of having the insides of apartment's fair game (which I'm still against; especially if the Red House is going to be an exception), simply set up a board in the Colodny that each player has to sign each day at some point to prove they are still alive. This way, we are forced to leave our domiciles and can't hole up. Maybe have two signs, one in another building such as the Verizon or Inky's to shake it up. -Morgan/The Claw/Knifey The problems with that plan are - a) who s going to set up the boards? I'm already waking up three hours early just to post assignments, b) who is going to check it (I can't go to the Colodny every day) and c) that would be in violation of the secrecy rules.

ASSASSIN Rules of Engagement
Rules for this game are taken from the ones Betsey wrote this summer, with a few variations. Read carefully. Take notes.
The breaching of any of the following rules as observed by the players must be reported to DAGOR (Colleen) either in person or via email (ColleenFrakes@gmail.com )
Players who breach the rules may end up blacklisted or removed from gameplay.
TARGETS: All players will be notified of their first target via school mailboxes by 8 AM, TUESDAY NOV 27. Gameplay begins at 8:01 AM. Players have 24 hours to make a credible kill attempt. Failure to do so will result in the player being placed on the Blacklist. Players may not legally assassinate someone who is not their target except in self-defense.
OUT OF BOUNDS: • The interiors of school buildings (the Colodny, the Verizon, the Schulz library) are forbidden territory for killing. The awnings/doorways of these areas are also safe, but once you step onto the public sidewalk you're fair game. Touching the school does not count. • The driver of any vehicle (car, bike, etc) has immunity while the vehicle is in motion. • Players may not be attacked at their place of work.
SECRECY: • As assassins, secrecy is of the utmost importance. Members of the WRJ community not directly involved in the game should not be made aware of its details or existence. • Non-players make not act as bodyguards, assist or interfere in kills in any way. • Kills made involving this kind of interference are invalid.
WEAPONS: Acceptable weapons are as follows
Projectiles: • A hit to the torso (limb hits do not count) with any safe projectile (rubber band, paper ball, NERF arrow, etc) will be counted as a legal kill. • NO WATER WEAPONS- squirt guns, water balloons, etc. as the weather is too cold for these to be used safely.
Knives: • Plastic, foam rubber or cardboard knives, etc. may be used • Homemade knives must be clearly marked with the word "KNIFE." • Knives must NOT leave the hand of the attacker during the kill. • Torso hits only count as legal kills.
Poison: • You can poison someone's food or drink by placing a piece of paper marked "POISON" underneath it. A significant amount of the poisoned food or drink must be consumed for the poison to be effective. • Poison which interferes with someone's food (such as Tabasco sauce) is banned.
Bombs: • You may plant a bombs to eliminate your target by writing "BOMB" on a piece of paper along with the time at which the bomb is to go off. The time must be set for at least one hour after the bomb has been planted. Bombs will be considered "diffused" if discovered before they are set to go off, and then ripped in half. • Bombs must be planted on your target's person (pocket, backpack, etc.), not in houses or cars. All "Out of Bounds" rules apply in regards to bombs.
DEATHS AND KILLS:
If you die: • Surrender your target card to your assassin • Report to DAGOR (Colleen) for Afterlife Reassignment either in person or via email (ColleenFrakes@gmail.com) • Players may choose to remain dead rather than re-enter the game.
If you kill: • Your new target is effective immediately • If you receive yourself as a target, report to DAGOR for reassignment.
SELF-DEFENSE KILL
If a player PRE-EMPTS an assassination, that is, kills his/her attacker before the killing move can be carried out, the player is granted a ONE HOUR period of immunity (against their attacker only) and the attacker remains in the game.
However, unprovoked killing based solely on suspicion or knowledge of one's attacker will result in the player being blacklisted.
Remember, you can block! Limb hits are non-lethal.
*ALL DEATHS MUST BE REPORTED TO DAGGER*
AFTERLIFE: Players who have been killed may re-enter the game as a Bodyguard or an Inquisitor.
Bodyguards: • Bodyguards choose a Ward to protect, and may kill anyone attempting to kill that Ward. • There can only be one Ward per Bodyguard and vice versa. • If a Bodyguard fails in his duty, and his Ward dies, the Bodyguard may choose a new Ward or take on the Ward's assassin as a Revenge Target.
Inquisitors: • Inquisitors exist to assassinate those on the Blacklist. • Blacklist targets are fair game to any and all Inquisitors; there will be no specific assignments. • No mercy must be shown to those Blacklisted. Any collusion between the Inquisition and Blacklisted players is strictly forbidden.
Ninjas: • Ninjas exist to spread chaos. • Anyone is fair game to any and all Ninjas, there will be no specific assignments. However, if killed while attempting to take out a player, a ninja will stay dead. There is no one hour healing process.
BLACKLIST: If the initial 24-hour kill deadline is not met, or if a player breaches the rules in any way, he or she will be placed on the Blacklist.
• The Blacklist will be posted on the school message board. • If you wish to plead a credible kill attempt, report to DAGGER in person, with a witness if possible.
END GAME: All players still alive by 11:59 PM FRIDAY, NOV 30 will be automatically entered into End Game. All Inquisitors, Bodyguards, Ninjas and Blacklisted players must cease activity at this time. Living players have until 11:59 PM SAT, DEC 1 to kill as many of the remaining players as possible.
• The End Game participants will be listed on this message board at midnight, Friday.
* IF THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS FALLS BELOW 6 PRIOR TO 11:59 PM THURSDAY, END GAME WILL BE DECLARED ACCORDINGLY *
THE UTMOST IN PLAYER CIVILITY IS EXPECTED OF YOU. USE YOUR WITS AND STEALTH TO PROVE YOUR METTLE IN THIS COMPETITION. CREATIVITY IS ENCOURAGED.
DAGOR IS WATCHING.
GOOD LUCK.
Clarification of any of the above can be obtained by appealing to DAGOR in person or via email. Clarifications of amendments will be posted here.

Assignments have all been placed in boxes or e-mailed. If you did not get your assignment, e-mail me.
You all have until 8am tomorrow to make your first kill.
There is an uneven number of people, so the first one to make a kill will receive a bonus assignment with an extended time limit.
Good luck.

Clarifications to the rules (based on e-mail questions):
A bomb can neither be planted, nor detonate in a "safe zone". Mostly, this is a good weapon to use if you know someone is going to be home for a while.
You can't write "knife" on your hands and kill someone that way. It's gotta be a piece of cardboard or something like that.
It's been almost twelve hours and no kills- if something doesn't happen soon I may need to add another weapon!

hey wait, DAGOR, is the red house (or any house) a "safe" zone? if so, which parts? do you have to touch the outside of the house? is the porch safe?
also, how far outside of the colodny is safe? is the entryway safe? is a person safe if they touch the wall outside?

Houses are NOT safe. The only safe zones are work and school property.

Lock your doors, sleep with a knife under your pillow. Hey, we've all got to go sometime! At least there's the after life to look forward to.

The purpose of the safe zones is to keep the school from getting in trouble, and people from losing their jobs.
There is no purpose in having a safe zone at home except to keep people alive longer. In a game about paranoia and killing, THAT would be bullshit.

You're an assassin. You don't get to have a conscience.

so i made an attempt and we had a shootout but then ended up stabbing each other. witness couldn't figure it out either and was in a place where we'd be carted off to the hospital. what does this mean? is there the hour or is it re-incarnation? kubbybear@gmail.com (if re-assignment)
