Hi all, here's a drawing from my portfolio. Pencil sketch from life, scanned, then colored in Photoshop. My actual comic-work is like the home video of a baby's first steps, so I'll spare you from that <img src=http://homepage.mac.com/richardkniffin/.Pictures/2007C.jpg>

arrg, I used to think I was web-savvy... not sure how to embed the image on this page, but you can copy/paste this address into your browser: homepage.mac.com/richardkniffin/.Pictures/2007C.jpg

I used a tablet for color, but the outlines are just pencil that's been manipulated for darkness/contrast. I followed the "CCS student websites" link and it's awesome to see what everyone does! I understand that most CCS'ers use pen/brush to ink? Inking is what I want to improve the most, any suggestions on tools to try out?

hmmm...I use a brush...something in the area of a #4 round. I've also used ...and still use a 'G-nib' for some things. I also recently discovered the wonders of the rapidograph pen! Allot of people around here use the G-nib, here's a link: www.akadotretail.com/categories.php?cPath=31_14_67_77

I use the Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen with the brush nib... www.dickblick.com/zz207/59/which may be a good starting point if you wanna try out brushes. i'm actually pretty happy with these, although it gets pricey replacing them as they tend to dry out quickly...
