I guess if someone is nasty you smite them and if they're especially nice you exalt them. beyond that i don't really think it affects anything.

Hey, Josie, where's my 'Dead Pet' bird? Like, I loaned it to the exhibit at Main St. Museum and some cat ate it or something. I am sooo bummed.
Someone should get Gabbie to this board, and fast. The dude is grieving wicked over the exile from CCS Boardland. It's like he lost Chutes and Ladders, like, permanently.
